Sugar Syrup for Gulab Jamun

Making the sugar syrup is very easy. We used sugar and water. Then, we added a few saffron strands.

Next, add some rose water. Finish with a little cardamom powder. This gives the syrup a wonderful aroma.

Do not make the syrup too thick. Keep it slightly sticky.

The Right Way to Fry Gulab Jamun

The oil should not be too hot. Keep the heat low. This helps the gulab jamuns cook evenly.

Fry the gulab jamuns slowly. Turn them gently while frying. Cook until they become golden brown.

Do not fry them over high heat. The outside may brown too quickly. The inside may remain undercooked.

Soak the Gulab Jamun in Sugar Syrup

Add the fried gulab jamuns to the syrup. Let them soak for about 30 minutes.

This helps them absorb the syrup. The gulab jamuns become juicy. They also remain incredibly soft.

Your halwai-style gulab jamun is now ready. Serve and enjoy them with your family.

Shape and Fill

Take small portions of dough. Place a few chopped cashew pieces in the centre.

Close the dough and gently roll it into a smooth ball. Make sure there are no visible cracks.

One 170 g packet can make approximately 20–25 pieces, depending on their size.

3

Add saffron strands and rose water. Cook for another 2–4 minutes.

The syrup should remain slightly sticky rather than becoming very thick. Finish with a little cardamom powder.

4

Fry Until Golden Brown
